Before you can place an order, you will need to measure your house and figure out how many panels you will need. Before you do that, you need to understand how the GutterShed™ sytem will be placed on your roof.
Each GutterShed™ plate is 4 feet in length, and will sit on your roof separated by one eighth of an inch. Most of your roof will be in straight sections, so you can measure those lengths and divide by four to figure out how many panels you will need for your own roof. Add a little margin for error if desired. You can always email us to get advice on your order, before you place it. A lot of people order two extra panels to have a backup for waste or mistakes on a modest house, and sometimes four extra panels on a large house.
In cases where the roof comes out, or turns a corner, you just need to adjust your measurements for the degree to which those plates will overlap. For example, if you have a 90 degree change in the roof line, where the gutter goes along, and then comes out towards you, you will have to overlap to cut each plate at a 90 degree angle with tin snips. Those cuts are the only time we have ever needed a tool to install the GutterShed™ system. We recommend simply adding 10% to your order, which we have found is remarkably accurate to adjust for angles, and so forth.
