Stephen R. Ash, M.D.
Dr. Ash is a prolific inventor, with over 30 U.S. and global patents, predominantly in his medical practice specialty (nephrology) of kidney disease, dialysis and liver disease. His inventions have helped save and extend lives, are often highly technical in nature, and are being used worldwide by physicians in dialysis, biotech labs, emergency rooms, surgery, cardiology, and many other applications. Many of his inventions have been sold or licensed to well-known biotech firms, and he continues to be active in biotech research on several fronts. He is known internationally for his medical breakthroughs and inventions and is currently medical director on several biotechs deep into research.
Nevertheless, Steve lives on a horse farm with his wife, a respected veterinary specialist in her own right, and he often applies his natural instincts to solve problems to troubleshooting around the farm. GutterShed™ is an invention that arose when the gutter covers at the farm simply weren’t working and were requiring too much maintenance. Steve doesn’t have the time or desire to be climbing up and down ladders all over the farm to unclog gutters several times a year, so he invented the GutterShed™ to be essentially maintenance free. Dr. Ash didn’t just default to an ordinary gutter cover. He designed something that made life easier for the homeowner by leveraging physics principles applied to exacting standards (which he has done so often in his medical inventions), to allow the gutters to work at optimum levels, while keeping organic debris out of the gutters.
